Clear, straightforward information so you know what to expect.
- Session fee: £45 for a 50‑minutes a phone or an online counselling session.
- Availability: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, between 6–11 pm (subject to current space).
- Who I work with: Adults (18+) living in the UK.
- How we meet: Sessions take place over the phone or online via a secure video platform, so you can attend from home or another private and safe space.
Payment is usually made by bank transfer on the day of your session (we can discuss what works best for you when we start). If you need to cancel or rearrange, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice where possible; sessions cancelled with less notice are normally charged in full, as it is difficult to offer that time to someone else.
We can also talk together about frequency (weekly or fortnightly) and what feels affordable and sustainable for you. My aim is to be open and transparent, so there are no surprises, and so that the practical side of counselling feels as manageable as possible.

FAQs
It’s very natural to have questions before starting counselling.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to gently get to know each other and for you to share as much or as little as you feel able to. We might talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you’re hoping for, and any worries you have about starting. You’re welcome to ask me questions too; there is no expectation to “tell everything” straight away.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number of sessions. Some people find a few weeks helpful, while others prefer longer term support. We will check in regularly about how things are feeling for you and whether you’d like to continue, pause or bring our work to a close. You are always free to decide what feels right.
Is online or phone counselling effective?
Many people find that phone or online counselling sessions fit more comfortably into their lives, especially when they are balancing work, caring for someone or have other commitments. Meeting in the evening can give you time to settle after your day and arrive more fully in the session. What tends to matter most is the quality of the relationship we build together – feeling heard, accepted and understood.
What if I feel nervous or don’t know what to say?
Feeling nervous is extremely common, especially at the beginning. You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear starting point; we can begin wherever you are. If there are pauses or moments of silence, we can hold those gently together. There is no judgement for how you show up.
What if I need crisis support?
I’m not able to offer crisis or emergency support. If you feel at immediate risk of harm, please contact emergency services, your local crisis team, NHS 111 option 2 or go to your nearest A&E. You can also reach out to Samaritans any time, from any phone for FREE for urgent support on 116 123. Or Shout 85258, which is a free, confidential, 24/7 UK crisis text support service for anyone struggling with mental health, anxiety, or stress. By texting “SHOUT” to 85258, you connect with a trained volunteer for immediate, anonymous support to help reach a calmer place. It is free on all major networks and will not appear on bills.
We can talk in our sessions about putting together a support plan that feels safe for you.
